Precious ones in heaven wait
In the Lord's embrace
For the blessed day when we
Will see them face to face.

Arrows from our quiver sometimes
Seem to go astray.
We wonder why the Lord sees fit
To take those ones away.

Seeing through glass darkly
One would carelessly survey
That the Lord is not the loving God
We thought He was one day.

But in His awesome wisdom
He has used this grieving bruise
To strengthen and perfect us
In His image to be used.

Rest in His assurance that
The little ones one day
Will be greeting you in heaven
When with them you will stay.

There are others who need comfort,
Ones the Lord may send your way.
See how God arranges things?
He'll give you words to say.

Be strengthened in the knowledge
That in time His perfect plan
Will be revealed to us, so we
Can finally understand.

Until this time should come,
Let us rest in His sweet love
Knowing and fully trusting
That our babes are safe above.

Remembering

Go ahead and mention my child,
The one that died, you know.
Don't worry about hurting me further,
The depth of my pain doesn't show.

Don't worry about making me cry,
I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide.

I'm hurt when you just keep silent,
Pretending it doesn't exist.
I'd rather you mention my child,
Knowing that he has been missed.

You ask me how I'm doing,
I say "pretty good" or "fine."
But healing is something ongoing
I feel it will take a lifetime.
